Yeah, Bitches! Netflix Nabs the Breaking Bad Sequel Film That . . . Will Subsequently Air on AMC

It may only be hump day, but for once Bad news is good news. The boys will soon (relatively speaking) be back in town.

In an interesting twist on the usual tale, Deadline claims the Breaking Bad sequel film will first air on Netflix and subsequently, on its originating network, AMC. Listen, we don’t much care how we get it, only that we get it.

What we know thus far is that series creator Vince Gilligan is writing and directing, and Aaron Paul will return. We’ll find out what happened to Jesse Pinkman after the fifth season finale. As for Walter White (Bryan Cranston), he should still be dead, but hey … this is television/the movies, so one never knows. Cranston has publicly gone back and forth on Walter’s fate.

There isn’t much news in the way of plot or who else might show up (not many originals were left alive); perhaps we’ll get a peek at what Walt Jr. (RJ Mitte) is up to, and I don’t mind speculating here — what if Skyler (Anna Gunn) went full Heisenberg? She’s got kids to raise on her own. Say her name.

Deadline did find out there’s a production called Greenbriar set to start filming in Albuquerque this fall, the same time this sequel is set to shoot. Greenbriar‘s logline lists the project as being about a kidnapped man trying to escape his captors.  Everybody say, “Hmm … ”

We’ll update as more information becomes available. For now, join our celebration; you know what to scream!
