Winterfell Is Yours, Your Grace: It’s Time to Start Obsessing Over Every Game of Thrones Frame Again

During last night’s Golden Globes ceremony HBO aired a short promo featuring new footage of several high profile series, including Game of Thrones, and if you’ve ever dreamed about punching a dragon, Bill Hader gloriously fulfilled that fantasy:

Between that amazing shot and the cool smoke of 2019 heralding Thrones‘ final six episodes,

it’s clear we’re meant to once again begin obsessing over every frame of new footage. Speaking of, did you catch the Night King riding (resurrected) Viserion?

The teaser‘s most standout scene — Sansa handing over Winterfell to Daenerys — isn’t hard to spot; it’s the little reactive nuances that command attention. Dany and Jorah approach (note Daenerys drops her demure hand position as she comes close) Sansa and Jon …

… and check out Brienne’s WTF-are-you-doing expression, taking in Sansa’s words:

Sansa appears confident, if not pleased with her decision, while Dany returns with an as-well-you-should sort of blink, and Jon lets out his usual overwrought sigh.

It’s all very interesting, and I can’t wait to see the tension when the entire scene plays out.

Game of Thrones returns to HBO this April.
