You Should Be Extremely Afraid: In the Second Venom Trailer, Tom Hardy Goes Full Alien

So much for not giving it all away.

What I really liked about the first Venom tease was that Eddie Brock’s monstrous host was only hinted at without a full reveal, but I guess now is the time for all good men …

… to be possessed by an alien symbiote — or at least for Tom Hardy to take on yet another role that hides the pretty.

There’s a heck of a lot of cheesy lines and cliches, so that might be the first thing you notice separating this first Sony Marvel Universe from MCU proper. Still, there’s some great action and Hardy is one of those actors who’s all in, everything — Venom could end up highly entertaining.

I don’t know why anyone would ever think of Tom for a face-covering role; here we are, though.

I feel you, dude.

Venom is directed by Ruben Fleischer and also stars Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate, Woody Harrelson, Scott Haze, Reid Scott and possibly, Tom Holland. It slides into theaters October 5th.

It’s got a surprisingly low budget aesthetic for a superhero (anti, whatever) movie and aside from the wonky sfx I’m kinda digging it.
