Poor Kevin Garvey. He’s been dead, gone to the other side (of something) and inexplicably come back and now — people think he’s Jesus … or a new Jesus? Anyway — as Christopher Eccleston’s Matt notes — the beard looks good on him.
And so begins the third season of HBO’s The Leftovers, a series we hope won’t turn into another Lost, despite the series’ shared showrunner.
(If it does, at least he’s off the Twitter this time around.) Whatever happens, happens, as they say, and whatever that is, we’ll watch. Because the core group of Justin Theroux, Eccleston, Carrie Coon, Kevin Carroll, Regina King, Margaret Qualley and Amy Brenneman are that fantastic. This season sees Scott Glenn joining as Kevin’s wackadoodle father, Kevin Sr., who’s apparently going to *Spoiler* his son. Check it:
If you haven’t been watching this gorgeous, heartbreaking show, rectify that right now. It’s as close to a religious experience as you can get, even if you’re (like me) not into that. (Plus, The Pixies and ABBA!)
What the … ?
The Leftovers also starsstars Lindsay Duncan, Jovan Adepo, Janel Moloney, Jasmin Savoy-Brown, Liv Tyler and Chris Zylka. It returns to HBO April 16th.
