Those clever folks behind HBO’s The Leftovers think they’ve pulled one over on us, but I *know* (not really) Damon Lindelof, and that tricky guy is not fooling me for one second. This first look at the series third and final season features Kevin, Matt, Laurie, John, Nora and others looking up at the sky — what can it be? Some miraculous message from god? People (or worse!) falling from the sky? This?
Nope, none of the above. But, there is a timely … well, you just watch.
Am I right, or am I right? That’s a winking nod to the series’ end (and current events), if ever I saw one. No way are they looking up at the same thing we saw.
Unless, I’m wrong.
But, I’m not wrong.
The Leftovers stars Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Christopher Eccleston, Amy Brenneman, Kevin Carroll, Scott Glenn, Lindsay Duncan, Regina King, Jovan Adepo, Janel Moloney, Margaret Qualley, Jasmin Savoy-Brown, Liv Tyler and Chris Zylka. It returns to HBO in eight parts, beginning April 16th. Here’s the official season description:
… the Garvey and Murphy families coming together as they desperately grasp for a system of belief to help better explain that which defies explanation. The world is crackling with the energy of something big about to happen, a corresponding bookend to the Sudden Departure that sent them all spinning years earlier, bringing their journey Down Under.”
Until then, let’s dance.
