And It Absolutely Will Not Stop, Ever, Until You Are Dead: James Cameron and Tim Miller Ready to Reboot The Terminator

Well, he did promise …

In news of a reboot almost nobody will complain about, the original Terminator director, James Cameron is teaming with Deadpool director, Tim Miller for what we should all presume to be the best do-over, ever. For real and for once, I truly believe this is a great idea. As Kyle Reese also (basically) promised, this franchise won’t stop …

Heck, it probably won’t even stop then. The point is, we’ve already seen what can go wrong with different people at its helm (Terminator: Salvation), so who better to right this ship (*insert your groans here*) than its original captain (*make your unintelligible noises*)?

Sorry, sorry; now that’s out of the way, here are the few details. Rights to the Terminator return to Cameron in 2019, so that’s likely when we’ll actually see the next Skynet battle. “Top” science fiction writers are reportedly being contacted to help up with the storyline, and Cameron has been in talks with Miller to direct. Beyond that — which is pretty damned good news — there isn’t much known.

Personally, I’d love to see unknown actors cast as Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese, though I wouldn’t mind Linda Hamilton and Lance Henriksen (even, Garrett Dillahunt!) cameos (Schwarzenegger already did his thing). We’ll keep you apprised of updates as they hit the webosphere.
