This is actually kind of messed up. George Clooney is at the United Nations, where he and his wife Amal are speaking out about the Syrian refugee crisis. Amal has volunteered to work on any prosecution of President Bashar Assad for war crimes and the Clooneys have launched an initiative to educate Syrian children in Lebanon. On top of that, Amal is making the case to take ISIS to court for genocide. Warning: This video contains disturbing accounts of sexual assault.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve fallen in love with Amal Clooney.
Speaking outside the UN, CNN’s Richard Roth decided to lob a last question that had nothing to do with the crises: how does Clooney — a longtime friend of Brad Pitt — feel about news of the split? It’s clear that Clooney was blindsided, and you can almost see the wheels turning as he struggles to maintain composure. No worries, though; he handles it with absolute grace.
Poor George looks as devastated as the rest of us felt.
We feel you, George.
Here’s wishing the Clooneys continued safety and peace — Happy World Peace Day — through their efforts.
