…. I have to acknowledge that all responses are valid, so I definitely have to take note that there’s a seemingly significant portion of the audience that wasn’t happy with that direction, so in that respect I think everyone on The Walking Dead creative team has taken note of that, and I don’t know that I would expect a similar cliffhanger at the end of season 7.
… at least for this coming season, but that doesn’t mean AMC and the gang aren’t up for teasing and torturing us before the show’s October 23rd return. In fact, just to prove they’re expert manipulators, Chris Hardwick is hosting a Talking Dead “Season 7 Preview Special” (following an all-day Season 6 marathon) this Sunday — August 14th — at 10 pm (EST).
I’m sure it’ll be the usual Hardboying, with a couple of cast interviews and behind-the-scenes stuff; basically, no real new information.
Right, like any of us can resist.

Earlier in the trailer the usual walkers lope around, and they look like this:
But later, near the preview’s end — after the title flashes — there’s a little bit more action involving Tara and a very different group of walkers:
These hairless, monochromatic walkers aren’t even walkers at all — they’re talking walkers, aka The Whisperers — rather, an odd group of live people disguised as walkers, wearing what Robert Kirkman calls “human leather.” Uhhh … oh, good, more scary people! Looks like, between Negan, King Ezekiel, his tiger (Shiva), and The Whisperers, Season 7 is chock full of surprises, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Just all of you keep your damned dirty paws off our Daryl … and Michonne … and Carol … and ….
