I Want to Believe: Ryan Gosling is at His Melancholic Best in La La Land-y Love

I don’t know about you, but love is high on my life-list right now. What with all the hatred and murder and internet fools shaming celebrities for how they look or love, it’s all I can do not to crawl under my bed and stay there. I want to live in an alternate reality where love is all that matters, and maybe one that looks like this La La Land trailer. Slightly surrealistic, gorgeous, with just a tinge of melancholy served up by that sweet Gosling puppy (yeah, he might be a baby goose, but I prefer him as a lovesick pup), whistling and singing away his uncertainty. This next outing from Whiplash writer/director Damien Chazelle is just the cuppa magic we can get lost in. And I’d like to compliment the gorgeous Emma Stone for her clever career course. She seems to know exactly how long to stay in the public eye before fading into the background just long enough for us to miss her and, BAM, here she is shaking up our world again. This is a love story I want to believe in, and I could easily listen to Gosling’s crooning all day long.

She wants to be an actress, he’s a rising jazz player, and I want to live in Linus Sandgren’s beautiful world.
