Celebrity Doppelgängers – A Photo Quiz

Hollywood is full of actors we — and the media — mistake for each other. Think you know which celebrity doppelgänger is which? Take our quiz and find out if your brain is seeing double.

Question #1: These two look so much alike that Jeffery Dean Morgan once jokingly flipped the bird at paparazzi photographers for yelling “Javier” at him; the next day that photo appeared in ‘The Daily News’ with the caption “Javier is an a**hole!” Javier Bardem is best known for his role in ‘No Country for Old Men’. Jeffery is known for playing Masked Hero, The Comedian, in ‘Watchmen’. Which of the two is starring in the upcoming Jonás Cuarón thriller ‘Desierto’?

Desierto is a 2015 Mexican thriller film co-written and directed by Jonás Cuarón. It was produced by Cuarón together with his father Alfonso and his uncle Carlos. It was shown in the Special Presentations section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the Prize of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) for Special Presentations. While it has had limited release in Mexico and France, it will be more widely released in theaters some time later this year (2016).

Question #2: This pair has more than just their looks in common. Both have also starred in a critically panned scary movie alongside a (albeit different) Comedian/Actor/Radio personality associated with the ‘Howard Stern’ show. William Hurt recently reprised his role as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and John Heard is perhaps most lovingly remembered as the patriarch of the McCallister clan in the ‘Home Alone’ series of movies. Which actor starred in the 1984 cult b-movie classic ‘C.H.U.D’, which ominously stood for Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller?

William Hurt starred in the 1999 direct to video flop, "The 4th Floor" with a supporting role from Artie Lange. John Heard starred in 1984's "C.H.U.D." with Jay Thomas.

Question #3: Both are sons of an actor. Both started acting as children. But only one will be playing Star-Lord’s father in the sequel to “Guardians of the Galaxy”

Question #4: Bronagh Waugh was featured in the amazing “The Fall” starring our fave, Gillian Anderson. Brooke Smith was in the cast of “The Silence of the Lambs” and “Interstellar”. Which of the two is best known for playing Doctor Erica Hahn on “Grey’s Anatomy”?

Question #5: Both Julia Stiles and Erika Christensen have had success on television. Julia’s role as Lumen Pierce on Showtime’s “Dexter” was critically lauded. Erika had a long run as a member of the Braverman clan on NBC’s “Parenthood”. Only one has had a reoccurring role in the “Bourne” series of films and is in the upcoming “Jason Bourne”.

Question #6: Scott Bakula has predominantly been known for his television roles, especially his turns in science fiction fare such as “Quantum Leap” and “Star Trek: Enterprise”. Aaron Eckhart has focused more on a film career with his most memorable role being Harvey Dent/Two-face in Christopher Nolan’s gritty “The Dark Knight”. Only one of them had a 2-episode arc on NBC’s “Frasier”.

Question #7: Both of them, Keith David (left) and David Keith (right), are extremely accomplished character actors. One was in an “Officer and a Gentleman”, the other was in “Platoon”. Which one of the starred alongside of Vin Diesel in the science fiction classic “Pitch Black”?

Question #8: Two DC super heros. Christian Bale as Batman and Stephen Amell as the Green Arrow. Both are actively involved in charitable efforts. But only one partnered with the charity Fuck Cancer and raised almost a million dollars by releasing for sale a t-shirt with his face on it.

Recently, since I am on a Justified bender, I am struck by the doppelganger effect between Timothy Olyphant and Billy Bob Thornton. The obvious age differences aside, they even sound the same and walk the same. There is also a similarity in their effect on me personally.
